Ganork is a jerk but he's not in the calss of those others you mentioned
he can and will talk baseball.

but only with the attitude that he is absolutely always 100% correct, no
matter how much evidence is presented to the contrary. he's not
interested in discussion or dialog, only monologues from himself and
flogging others into submission dare they disagree with his assessments.

he's in my kf and will remain there. he's gone beyond useless into being
a malignancy. can't filter him out like that in a google group.

Here's the problem...as I see it of course...

We all have people that rub us the wrong way. I don't mind a certain amount
of off topic conversation. When I find someone so offensive...or that
simply pisses me off to the point where I respond in ways even I am not
proud of, and certainly are unproductive...I place them in my killfile to
try to lessen the chances that I'll continue to respond. That of course
won't work when others that I haven't filtered (and don't wish to) then
respond to that person. Which is when I tend to piggyback and say stuff
anyway. But those folks that I DO wish to converse with, obviously want to
hear from those I don't. That's life.

Which brings us to this dilemma...WHO decides what is appropriate? This IS
by design, a form of censorship. Also...who decides who gains admission to
your little "club". There is already a SoSH group. I don't even read the
stuff over there for this very reason. I don't care for the exclusivity of
it.

Bottom line for me? I don't want any part of it. The trolls and blowhards
don't bother me that much. Learn to use a killfile folks. Or just ignore
the old fashioned way if you can't be bothered with a real computer or
newsreader. Ignore them and they go away...at least for you. These are
just words. We all have a right to our opinions. Free society and all
that. If anyone wants to go elsewhere, there are plenty of moderated groups
and forums around already. This just smells of someone wanting to control
membership and content.

Like Groucho once famously said..."I wouldn't join any club that would have
me."
