From: sweet lou on 7 Aug 2010 13:04 The original post was to see how many if any had any interest in a new/ different NG. From some responses there appears to be some confusion. I'll try to clarify:This is no intented to be a elitist group it would encompass 95% of the folks in this NG. It would not be moderated thus no censorship per se your 1st admendment rights would be in tact i.e. you could as you can now express yourself as you wished. What it would do is initially shut out all spam, the likes of Girly Girl, as well as known trolls be they Yankee or otherwise although sensible posters of other teams would be welcome, those that post political posts on a regular basis would not be welcome. Because it would not be moderated Any say again ANY OT posts would be accepted.Due to the eliminating of the consistent political posters it would minimize such posts. The operative word is minimize but not ban.Now this just an idea set forth to judge the reaction pro or con. Who would make the judgement as to gets in? That's a damn good question I would be glad to have any "regulars" volunteer to help in making the decision(s). This is just an idea which may or may not come to fruition so if you decide to flame me for making such a suggestion go ahead.

And considering that the 95% already have the other 5% in their spam filters, the whole point of a new group is moot. Now go away.

This is Libtard language, and a perfect definition of "spin" to make something appear other than what it really is. Keeping people out of such a "newsgroup" (it's NOT actually a newsgroup) is censorship or moderation, or whatever word you choose to call it, regardless of what 'sweet lou' says. Anyway, 'sweet lou', since I am a "regular", I'll volunteer to help make the decisions as to who gets in (your words right there above). If you choose to not let me do that, you are censoring the makeup and content of the "newsgroup"... Can you understand that simple concept? -- "Ubuntu" -- an African word, meaning "Slackware is too hard for me". "Bother!" said Pooh, as he scrambled his partition table. The real confusion is actually you confusing something provided by Google and calling it a NG. Usenet isn't Google. What spam and what trolls? If you'd simply stopped using Google Groups and start using a decent news reader with a working killfile you wouldn't need another group. -- Gio http://www.animeblog.nl |
