The Reds could have mailed this one in after ABang gave up the 3 run
homer with Haladay dealin'. But they fought back and Bruce capped off
the comeback with a two run blast in the eighth.

The pins all fell into place, Harang didn't allow add on runs. Then
Logan O. and Rhodes did their job. Even Cordero got the save in
relatively short order for him. After all it wouldn't be fun if that
tying run wasn't left on second. Great win before this crucial road
trip. Reds certainly have momentum heading into Chi-town.

Reds will play 5 straight day games including today. I heard Hanigan
caught Volquez at Double A last night so a few more puzzle pieces may
arrive back shortly.

Great win, great win. character win after losing that game last night...

Ayup. Felipe "Tin Glove" Lopez, still helping out the Reds even though he now
wears a Cardinals' uni, went 0-for-3 while playing (or should I say "attempting
to play"?) third base and committing fielding error in the second inning which
allowed the Diamondback's first run of the game to score on the play, thereby
tying the game.

Back when the Reds first started looking like they were going to give the
Cardinals a run for their money, a lot of people said, "Talk to me in July."

I just checked the calendar, and guess what? It's July.

Hoooo, somebody pinch me!

Here's where the Reds have been in the standings up to and including games
played on June 30 in recent years:

2010: First (xx-xx), up by 1/2 game
2009: Third (37-38), 4 GB
2008: Last (39-45), 11-1/2 GB
2007: Last (31-50), 16-1/2 GB

I think the trend is pretty clear.

Great is the right word.

Halladay had some absolutley filthy movement on all of his pitches and
the umpire had a strike zone the size of an olympic pool. RH with a 3
run lead late should have been an automatic loss.

Instead, the reds got a career high 13 hits off of him.

The announcers said RH was 113-4 with a 3 run lead going into the 7th
inning in his career. Before yesterday, that is.
