Suspensions
Cueto got a 7-game suspension for his role in the brawl. Baker and LaRussa got 2 games each. Rolen, Springer, Molinda, Carpenter fined. Baker/LaRussa start serving on Friday. Cueto starts Friday as well unless appealed. Cueto likely to miss his Sunday start. With all of the options, that's not horrible. A... 13 Aug 2010 14:44

Misc. Thoughts, But Mainly On Leake
Lost in the shuffle in this Reds/Cardinals series is the fact that Hernandez went 5-for-8 with a homer and two ribbies, and scored three runs in the two games he played. At .301 he now has the third-highest BA in the NL and fourth in MLB among catchers with at least 200 ABs. Bill Bray appeared in all three game... 13 Aug 2010 21:17
Why I think he did it
David brings up an interesting point about Votto saying almost exactly the same thing about the cubs. Votto said he hated the cubs and his folk hero status grew leaps and bound. I think that's why BP did it to be honest. We all know he has ego issues and wants to be seen as the self-declared leader of the te... 13 Aug 2010 21:17
Spoiled brats
Molina got in Phillips's face before his first at bat, both benches emptied, Carpenter and Cueto were shoved up against fences; both managers and NO PLAYERS ejected. This should've been called a double forfeit. Hope everyone gets ML suspensions. I turned the game off in disgust. ... 12 Aug 2010 12:38

Cardinal Reds
Over on the Cards site, someone posted about all the ex-cards WJ has picked up. One of the responses was "bet he doesn't get Pujols and Molina." I decided against pointing replying "no need, our 1B and catchers are already better than yours" :) ... 12 Aug 2010 14:51
It's time to send Mike Leake down.
After watching him get blasted tonight, I've seen enough. He was great to start the year, no one can argue otherwise, but he's been killing the Reds for two solid months. This is what he's done this season: First 11 starts: 4 homers, 2.22 ERA, 6 2/3 IP per start, 10 quality starts. Last 10 starts: 10 homers, ... 12 Aug 2010 11:32

Big series versus the Cardinals
Head-to-head time! Carpenter-Leake on Monday looks tough, the rookie has mostly struggled of late; Garcia-Cueto and Wainwright-Arroyo rate to be real pitcher's duels. The Cards offense has been putting up runs but not against the likes of Reds pitching. Let's bury 'em! ... 10 Aug 2010 06:59
