Portland shortstop Jose Iglesias - " He’s told us many times how much
he hates running." - just what we like to hear from our top prospects.
Trade this idiot.

So if you hate running why do you become a baseball player?
If you don't want to run become a golfer.

Baseballers usually only need to sprint.
I think he objects to those long morning 5 mile runs.

Sounds like a classic case of one off hand remark by a non-English speaker
being taken completely out of context.

Of course there's no need to take Serge out of context...his very existence
is out of any context.

Good way to make a baseball decision eh? Speaking of idiots...

Here's the context to go along with what was being talked about. Judge for
yourselves...

Itching to play

It been a long road back for Portland shortstop Jose Iglesias mostly
because of the running.
Iglesias, who has been out since May 29 with an occult fracture of the right
index finger, has progressed to batting practice and throwing, the latter of
which has been the major issue because of where the fracture was located. He
is expected to be playing in games by the end of this weekend, likely
starting as the designated hitter in a rehab assignment with short-season
Single A Lowell.

And theres no question that Iglesias is eager to return. It seems the
native of Cuba been having a difficult time getting through his first major
injury in the United States, starting with the roller coaster of having the
X-rays come back negative, followed by a CT scan that found the fracture a
week later.

Hes obviously gone through periods of frustration, wanting to play, and
being in the environment where its just theres nothing really to do,
said Hazen. Basically, what he hates to do is he hates to run. All he had
been able to do is to field ground balls with his glove hand, because [the
fracture] was on his throwing hand. So he couldnt swing, he couldnt throw.
So all he could do was field ground balls and flip it with his glove and
run.

Hes told us many times how much he hates running. So its probably been
pretty frustrating.
