That has nothing to do with what he said. He was clearly talking about the
running you must do for conditioning...not during the games. The kid hadn't
been able to play baseball. I'll bet most players like working out less
than playing the sport they love to play. You think players like riding an
exercise bike as much as taking batting or fielding practice? If nothing
else I can see being bored with it.

Which is why I (and most people in this group) could never be a
professional athlete--
I hate reptitious exercise. Baseball is not the same game that we
played in school--it's a year-round job with weights, exercise, etc.in
the off-season.

Iglesias has shown a lot of savvy, and he probably would never have
made that comment to the press. It means absolutely nothing --- you
are right about that. But the guy with the mouth should have stuffed
it.

Then there are players like Junior Seau who take their game seriously
and was in there first every morning taking his preprations very
seriously. You may not like the preperations to get ready for
a game but the more you into those prepeations the better you
perform in the game itself.

But then when you're paid million of dollars you take your repetitive
excercises very seriously.

Don't want to lift weights/run sprints/etc.? Then get a job as
a painter.
