The fewest number of errors in ALL of MLB????

The Pittsburgh Pirates.

How's that workin' for them?

Could be a couple of factors. Maybe their range sucks. Maybe
the Pirates official scorer is overly generous for the D. It is
strange though.

However, let's watch the playoffs and see how many teams with
bad D we see on the field.

Heh...the Pirates are built on speed and defense? You could've fooled me. I
thought they were built on "cheap."

There's a reason this franchise now has the longest streak of consecutive losing
seasons in pro sports history. They've been rebuilding since Baroid walked after
the 1992 season. They develop a few halfway decent players like Bay and Sanchez
and McLouth, and then they trade them away because "Oops, this guy is actually a
good player, we're going to have to pay him more than the league minimum." The
surprise isn't that they routinely lose, it's that anybody in Pittsburgh buys
tickets when the Steelers will have more wins than the Pirates by Halloween.

yep. i see no concrete plan in Pittsburgh, certainly not a plan to
build the team around speed and defense. Its all about keeping the
franchise afloat financially. I cant recall seeing anything like what
the Pirates have done over the past year+.

Grats to the Pirates.

In the NL, 4 of the 6 best fielding teams (in terms of pct) are
heading to the playoffs.

Same thing in the A.L.
