Just curious what your thoughts are about the following for the rest of the
year.
Duncan in LF
Schumaker in CF
Ludwig in RF

I'll hang up and listen.

Why would you bench Encarnacion? He's got the hottest bat in the
lineup.

Agreed about Juan for now
I think Schumaker deserves a chance to start and he is a decent fielder.

Cardinal announcers have consistently butchered the names of Cardinal
players since I began following them in 1968; but eventually
corrections come.
Has *anyone* noticed that the OF's name is LudwiCK? This annoys me
almost as much as "Poo-holes" and "Poo-Holtz" And these are spoken by
people who never bungle "Encarnacion." lol

I noticed the same thing, Earl. It's as if they can't even be bothered
to read the name on the jersey. Jay Randolph was calling David
Eckstien "Ecksteen" until a couple of months ago, but regressed
yesterday. I'll give him credit, tho, he corrected himself (probably
because Rick Horton gave him a dirty look!).

Rene Knott on channell 5 calls Juan Encarnacion "EncaNARcion" and I
find that maddening, as well. I've heard other non- Cardinals
announcers make the same mistake.

Jack Buck was pretty good with Hispanic and Latino names,I guess in
part, because he was fluent in Spanish. That and he did his
homework. ;-)

I suppose the bottom line is lack of preparation on the the parts of
the various announcers. What would it take for them to ask a player,
"How does one correctly pronounce your name?"
