Ryan has lifted his average 35 pts?

If it were from 300 to 335 we would but being from 185 to 220 it's not
quite so noticeable ;)

it's good to get a bit more production at the bottom of the order...

So... since many in the community blamed Mark McGwire for the lowly
hitting of Ryan and Skip Shumaker, would it be fair to give him credit
for the improved hitting?

In addition to weak hitting, Ryan isn't having a good fielding year
and he's making mental mistakes. Ryan made a bonehead play in
Tuesday's game. Luckily for the Cardinals, the Reds made about half a
dozen bonehead plays (such as not even trying to throw out Molina).
Reds should have been charged with more than the 3 errors.

Ryan also wasn't on the field in time at the beginning of Carpenter's
start Monday, causing deserved criticism of Ryan from Carpenter.
