This is assuming you can get "equivalency" back, of course. Despite a
few deluded fans here, who think that these guys are "clutch," they
aren't even fundamentally sound, regardless of how much "raw talent"
they appear to possess. How many balls do we want to see Wright throw
away? And now many more "bonehead" things do we need to see Reyes
do? I'm tired of it. They have proven that they are not "winners."
They were surrounded by enough of a "supporting cast" to at least get
into the playoffs once in the last four years, if they were true
"core" players. How many times have we seen this team go into hitting
"funks" for long periods of time? This is something true core players
would prevent (not all the funks, but some of them, which would have
meant at least one playoff appearance). Let some other team try to
"figure them out." Perhaps Ollie could be unloaded in a trade, which
would be a great example of "addition by subtraction," and that is
what this team seems to need a whole lot of right now. Get the "dead
wood" out of here, and let's find out who have the potential to be
true core players, as well as trading for perhaps 2 or 3 of them (and
at least one solid starting pitcher), during the offseason.
Otherwise, a fan boycott is necessary for 2011, unless you want to see
this for the next 5 years or so.

Reyes is a hot dog! Get rid of him!
Wright is a good player with a crappy cast around him. Keep him!

Wright is not the problem, a hammer in the middle of the order is
lacking.
Trade Reyes if you can get some quality player in return, Tejada will
do at SS.
The Met offense starting 2010 looked way too much like 2009, if you
swap Ike in for Murphy.
Not much in the way of clutch hitting this year.

Wow . . . do you think Francouer can hit too? Tejada with a full-time
job would be the worst starting offensive player in baseball.

Will do what, exactly? Hit like a pitcher? Don't the Mets have
enough crappy offensive players as it is?
