If they don't re-sign him, what have they lost? They got a great season at
a fair price. Beltre got to establish his true value. The Red Sox will at
the very least get two picks for losing him and still have whatever money he
would have cost (probably less) to replace him. Everyone should be happy
however it turns out. That's a smart GM.
