Jason Bay lives in the Seattle area. Id' say they are the favorites.

Interesting reasoning. I guess because they're always such big spenders?
:/

Well, the Mariners do have one of the highest payroll's in baseball's
at close to $100 million, so I would definitely classify them as one
of the big spenders in MLB. They have enough $ to offer Holliday and
Bay big bucks, considering some $$ is coming off the books for them
after this season.

Yes...because they are consistantly in the top 1/3 of payrolls.

......but you knew that didn't you?

Well yeah. They're TENTH. A payroll less than half that of TEE. Do you
really think that puts them in line to outbid the Red Sox, let alone the
Yankees? Come on.

And yes...money is coming off their books. There is a lot coming off the
Red Sox and Yankee's books too. I just don't think they're in a position to
be in the market for the ridiculous sums being mentioned. Hell...I don't
think the Red Sox should offer 150 million for him...even if it means his
going to NY. Just my opinion.
