Pete Rose never cheated at baseball even once. And there is
certainly nothing reprobate about betting on oneself to win.

As we said, Pete Rose is remembered by the sport fan as the greatest
hitter of all time, by definition and without qualification.

If you want to flaunt your ignorance by calling the man names, go
right ahead. But amongst those who count, you will not be taken
seriously.

In my lifetime I would consider Carew and Gwynn and Brett better
'hitters' than Rose. Hell, I can't even call Rose the greatest
LEADOFF hitter, seeing as that moniker is reserved for Rickey
Henderson (another A-hole). How about winning a batting title? Or
hitting, oh I don't know......370? Or how about doing nothing more
than having the general concensus be on the order of 'boy he sure got
a lot of clutch hits', 'you could sure count on him when you needed
it'.
Let me know when your 'greatest hitter' of all time accomplishes
anything not involving a criminal element.

Cordially,
The wind blowing through the hallway awaiting Rose's items at the HOF.

LOL, thanks for the laugh. Measure the hitter by hits only? That's stupid
but then again, right up your alley, so we expect nothing less from you.
Thanks for playing, come back when you have bought a clue.

pfffffttt!! Even Pete Rose doesn't consider Pete Rose "the greatest hitter
of all time." He'll be the first to admit that he wasn't as good a
ballplayer as Ty Cob, or Ted Williams, or probably a hundred others.

nope. one could argue tha the "greatest hitter" is the guy with the highest
lifetime BA, but sheer number of hits alone does not make him the "greatest
hitter."
