Owings homered off this guy last year, he, Nix or Janish were better options and I can get 6 million other people on the interenet that agree with me because they don't live in a land of Red Kool Aid.... Just an opinion.

Just an opinion. Oh be quiet. You just dont like Ramon "rusty gate" Hernandez, or Aaron "bang bang" Harang for that matter. You take a disliking to someone and you cant think straight. Thats all there is to it. Stop pretending that you've arrived at your objections through reasoning.

Just an opinion. Nix apparently was unavailable and thus not an option at all. Beyond that, you are of course entitled to your opinion, sir. But this has nothing to do with being under the influence of what you call "Red Kool Aid" and it doesn't really matter whether you can find six million other people on the Internet to agree with you or not. That just proves there's six million people on the Internet who need to go to The Clue Booth and buy a clue because they obviously don't have one. That comes as no surprise whatsoever, because as someone much wiser than myself once observed, there are three things that every male in America thinks he can do better than any other male in America - barbecue a steak, make love to a woman, and manage a baseball team. The issue here is this: you don't manage games in the middle of May like it's the seventh game of the World Series. History has repeatedly shown that such an approach to managing is going to produce far more problems than those few wins you might scratch out by managing that way are worth. JK
From: john smith on 16 May 2010 09:04 John K, we can agree to disagree on this decision . In the grand scheme of things, our debates and discussions on Reds baseball don't amount to hill of beans.

Just for what it is worth, the way Hernandez hits behind runners, and the given situation, I was okay with the Baker decision. Just in fairness, if you are going to rip Baker for a PH choice you must give him credit the following night for running Heisey out there as a late inning defensive replacement, and have him figure in the key play. Throw Hernandez a little credit as well for his play at the plate. Despite the announcer's description of 'two perfect throws', Cabrera's throw was sufficient, but far from perfect. |
