The Washington Nationals have designated Willy Taveras for assignment.

But not to worry...the Baltimore Orioles called up Corey Patterson from the
Class-AAA Norfolk Tides on Wednesday.

Further proof that the Reds had no idea what they were doing in paying
these guys 3 million per season. If you want to take chances on guys
with terrible stats who are looking for a job in January, then you pay
them 500k, not 3 million.
