From: RJA on 12 Aug 2010 13:32 Cueto got a 7-game suspension for his role in the brawl. Baker and LaRussa got 2 games each. Rolen, Springer, Molinda, Carpenter fined. Baker/LaRussa start serving on Friday. Cueto starts Friday as well unless appealed. Cueto likely to miss his Sunday start. With all of the options, that's not horrible. Anyone know if Wood can be recalled early due to this? Seems like they wanted Bailey to go for Leake on Saturday in the first place. Judging by how Spier managed Saturday's game, Baker's absence could hurt and that's saying a lot coming from me.

I think that Molina should each have recieved a couple games off as well. > > Baker/LaRussa start serving on Friday. Larussa had his rotation lined up perfectly for a key series. Facing Carpenter/Garcia/Wainwright is like facing Smoltz/Glavine/Maddux circa 1996. Any one of those 3 would be the #1 guy this year for the Reds (or almost any year). i like thier chances in the postseason running those 3 guys out there, assuming Garcia doesnt keep tanking. I didnt think the Reds could realistically win more than 1 game, even at home. I thought they might beat Garcia. But i'm not surprised they were swept. Whats alarming is that they were outplayed in every possible way. I dont blame Brandon for this either. The defense sucked and the starting pitchers couldnt avoid big innings. Arroyo suddenly couldnt throw a strike when he needed 2. 4runs after 2 outs cant happen. But they still lose even if that inning doesnt happen. Leake may have hit an endurance wall and they should consider shutting him down. Notice i dont blame the hitters. Again, look at that Cardinal starting pitching.
