because it happened. Why do you insist on pretending that those games
dont count?

looks like youre wrong again.

Following his first 15 starts (and 1 relief appearance), since June 26
of 2008 he is 11-6 4.54 era in 150.2 innings. So he's been a league
average pitcher following 15 weeks as the best starter in a game (oh
wait, that period doesnt matter. i forgot).

I have yet to see any report that he was using 'roids.

There are more substances on the banned list than just steroids. I
find it difficult to believe that any legit doctor in the western
hemisphere would prescribe steroids to someone who list his occupation
as proffesional baseball player. Unless he just recently emerged from
under a rug.

Between you and BobB, youre a couple of insufferable haters. He's a
Red. At least have the decency and class to root for the uniform. Its
almost like you want half the guys on the team to fail.

Honestly, i am thankful to nature and my parents that i am like
neither of you guys. Yeah, i can be a smartass, but i dont pile on a
dude when he's having problems ( and according to Volquez, he's having
trouble conceiving which has to be tearing him up as a man). You guys
just cant stand the fact that ballplayers today arent just like the
supermen who played the game when you were kids. Well, i got news for
you. Those players back then were just as flawed as todays
professionals. Times havent changed that much, and most changes are
superficial anyway. Try reading some biographies, tell-all books, or
diaries about those days. You'll see. Men havent changes at all.

That's funny. I'd argue that the Reds could certainly use a player of
the caliber of Craig Biggio. Oh wait, the Reds really need a guy who
dresses for the cover of GQ while pulling an OPS of .600. As Emily
Litella would say, "Never mind."

I hate guys who are privileged to wear a major league uniform and then
throw it all away because of drugs. I don't care what uniform they wear.
I am not a Reds' fan drone. If a player doesn't play the game the right
way or conduct himself with a certain respect, I have a problem with it.

It is a privilege to wear a major league uniform. There is a thing known
as class and it is not a course you take in school. It is all about a
respect for the game and yourself. Something quite a few modern day
players have no clue about.

As far as piling on poor Edinson Volquez, I think you might want to get
a better grip on reality. I don't consider it bad taste to talk about a
boob like Volquez, a guy who has made big time money compared to the
real world slob. I'll save my pity for a guy who has cancer or better
yet a guy in Afghanistan who lives day to day and wonders if he is going
to be alive the next day. Do you ever think about guys who provide you
the very freedom to be a smartass? Or do you save your empathy for a guy
like Volquez?

I am glad I have the morals and integrity of past generations. At least
I know the difference between right and wrong.

Oh Henry, I find it really amusing that you point out Josh Hamilton
hasn't been the same since his April and May of 08. And average player
to quote your post...... But when I use the same argument about
Volquez's April and May of 08, you quickly dismiss it. How wonderful it
must be to live in the world of Henry..

I guess Volquez's first two months of 08 mean much more than
Hamiltons...
