lol

Years ago, i used to watch the TV show "Fresh Prince of Bel Air", and
Will Smith's character would occasionally mention a restaurant called
"Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles". I assumed this was a fictional
establishment.

Fast Forward to 2006:

I move to San Diego and drive up to Long Beach for a job interview. I
get off the freeway and -shock- there's a Roscoe's Chicken and
Waffles. I almost wrecked the car doing a doubletake. Turns out its a
franchise and there are several of these around the country.

2008:

I'm working in LB and go out to lunch at Roscoe's and order the -
chicken and waffles.

Is there a Roscoe's in Cincy yet?

I'm not sure what Ron was asking but I find the topic of waffles &
chicken amusing.

Yes. I forgot about him. or rather, about the fact that he's played some
outfield in the majors. I think of him as mainly a second baseman.

Yup. It's kind of a shame. If he hadn't gotten off to such a slow start last
year, he might have ended up in the majors in July/August when they had that
string of injuries.

Probably just what will happen.

That might depend on who the opposing pitcher is on Opening Day. If they platoon
in LF again, Dickerson will get the call if the opposing pitcher is
right-handed. If the reds face a southpaw on Opening Day...well, choose your
favorite right-handed hitter from among the possibilities we've listed here,
plus just about anybody that's still on the baseball scrap heap or has a
realistic shot at being obtained in a trade.

A recent trip by Barry Bonds to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles
did not end happily for Bonds.

I had to google this.

Apparantly Barry showed up at a Roscoe's in Hollywood while the
Dodgers were having thier caravan stop there.

and so Rons comment referred to luring Bonds to Cinci to play LF.

If Bonds would take a deal of minimum salary + incentives based on
playing time and attendance figures, i'd be willing to talk.

I was at GAB the last time Bonds came through town.

Don't think I've ever heard a player booed quite like that.

I know it's just laundrey, but I can't imagine him playing for the local 9.
