They should probably platoon in CF for now. Stubbs showed that he can
walk in the minors, so that patience should help to raise that number
at some point assuming his average doesn't plummet.

IIRC, Baker played Taveras plenty over Dickerson, who was getting on
base at an above average clip. That's why he's an idiot.

Prior to the injuries, Alex Gonzalez was getting plenty of time
batting 2nd. He's another out-machine. What's the excuse for him?

It doesn't matter though, because Janish is so bad of a hitter that
you can't justify batting him 2nd just for the sake of these "nice-to-
haves."

Common sense would tell me that Janish batting 2nd with his putrid
numbers didn't have much to do with the strong finish.

For what it's worth, the question about Stubbs since day 1 as a
professional was would he make enough contact or not. He seemed to make
extraordinary progress last year at the major league level. It's
ENTIRELY possible that Stubbs could start hitting like Janish.
