Couldn't resist that subject line.

Of course, that's Daryl Harang, Aaron's 27-year old southpaw brother who was a
23rd-round pick of the Blue Jays in '04 and pitched for York in the Atlantic
League last year, going 10-12 with a 4.08 ERA in 23 starts and 10 relief
appearances. He fanned 85 and walked 45 in 154 innings.

Harang was released by the Jays during spring training last year. He was signed
by the Reds earlier in the week along with RHPs Enrique Garcia and National
League Cy Young Award non-candidate Kip Wells. If Garcia's name sounds familiar,
it's because the Reds drafted and signed him in 2008 only to release him in
February 2009. Before the Reds, Garcia had also been drafted, but not signed, by
the Cubs, White Sox, and Diamondbacks.

As for Wells...he's been with the White Sox (first round pick in '98), Pirates,
Rangers, Cardinals, Rockies, Royals, Nationals, and Reds. Meh...I guess
somebody's got to mop up, even in Louisville.

I had taken the line serious. I believed Aaron being the great guy that
he is ripped up the final year on his contract and resigned as a minor
league invitee. Well I can dream cant I........

My first thought was "sounds like something Jim Bowden would have
done", but I'll bet that these type of backscratching signings happen
much more frequently around the league than we hear about them - an
established player calling the gm and asking if they can find a job
for his relative (assuming thats what happened).
