There was a time when I might have made the mistake of saying 'good
riddance' to Steinbrenner shuffling off this mortal coil, as for a long
time the media only really showed us the bad side of the man.

His reaction to the events of April 16, 2007 showed me a lot about who
the man really was. (For those in a cave at the time, he cut a check to
the Virginia Tech memorial fund for $1M and had his people arrange for
his team to go to Blacksburg and play, which they did. It helped alot.)

Amen! Steinbrenner did a great deal of good things for people, and
never wanted it known. RIP George
