From: O'Neill's Faggy Prostrate - I Gotta Lotta GAS, these FARTS are BAD!!! on
I will go out on a limb and predict this:
The Mets take the NL East.
The Red Sox win the AL WildCard.
Both teams will surge in the second half, especially the Red Sox when
all are healthy.
Look for the Mets to beat the Braves in 7 games in an exciting NLCS.
Look for the Red Sox to beat the Yankees in 5 games in the ALCS, where
their pitching will be too much for the Yankees to handle.

And that sets up a rematch of the 1986 World Series:
Bill Buckner, who really had a stellar career, and should be in the
hall of fame, is called upon to throw out the first pitch. The Boston
faithful go wild as Bill returns to the World Series.

And the winner, in 7 games, is .....

(stay tuned!)

It is pathetic that any basball fan would say Buckner belongs in the
Hall of Fame. He is so far away from belonging that he shouldn't have
even got one vote.

Career numbers: .289 .321 .408

Examine those. You have a good batting averaage, a BELOW average OBP
and a mediocre SLG. he was a mediocre player for 22 years. His 2715
hits are not enough. His 450 walks over 10,033 PAs are pathetic.
Interestingly his career high in walks was 40 for the 86 Red Sox. But
he had 681 PAs. His career season high in OBP was a mere .353 set in
1980 when he led the NL in BA at .324.

The kicker is his career OPS + is 99. An average player for a long
time does not belong in the HoF. His peripherals sucked.

Yeah, but he is famous, isn't he?
