Damon did Theo a favor by acting like a dirtbag during negotiations. He
left for the bright lights and they ended up wayyy overpaying for 2 good
offensive years and four years of dogshit defense.

You've got a strange outlook Ray. Damon got a fair offer from the Sox,
and took overpayment from the Yankees instead. Lowe was sub-replacement
level and Millar had dropped off as well; they were performance issues,
not personality issues. If you think that a team with Pedroia, Papi,
Papelbon, and Youk is corporate, I don't know who you'd want to add to
spice things up. Should the Sox go back after Damon, Millar, Lowe, and
Pedro? They're all available. Or should they just try to get Drew to
act more wacky?

Brenden Donnelly signed with Pittsburgh.....1 YR-$1.5
million....incentives that could get him as high as $3 Million.

"Backwatds"? And you call others, "idiots"?
Seriously, do you ever listen to what you say?

The Damon negotiations were strange. The RS felt that their best offer
to Damon was not communicated to him by his agent. Thus the show of
Henry et al going to Texas to present the offer in person to Teixeira.
Anyway, the RS made their offer to Damon and concluded he would not
accept and quietly moved on. So, in some respects, the offer out there
was one they pretty much knew would not be accepted. It stayed out a
long time, which led to hard feels and misunderstandings from lots of
Sox fans. I really don't blame the RS front office for getting
frustrated, or same for Damon. There clearly was a mixup of some sort.

I think that NYY overpaid. Yes, Damon got "market" in some sense, but
really, it is the next highest bidder that sets the market, not the
high bidder. so, when there is a big gap, I think we can say a team
overpaid even if we are talking about market prices.

I think NYY got only 3 years of dogshit defense. The first year was
mediocre, not terrible. But the RS certainly had a major hole
offensively in CF with Coco as the replacement. NYY has lots of money
--- I don't think Damon hurt them competitively.
