Remember one thing is that good teams rarely have to fool with their
line-ups barring some unforeseen injury.

Playoff teams are usually stacked 1-5 and their six hitter is no slouch.
They at least have a prime guy hitting lead-off and hitting fourth. The
Reds have neither.

Batting Phillips second is like putting a band-aid on a gun wound.
Phillips has rarely shown the bat control or the unselfishness it takes
to be a good #2 hitter.

Of course a lot of offensive problems could be masked by great starting
pitcher. One decent effort from Harang does not solve all the Reds
problems.

The only encouraging signs on this team right now are Bruce and
Hannigan. Baby steps and one game at a time is all we have right
now.....
