Dave Dravecky also seemed to enjoy his brief stay with the Giants. If Kent gets into the Hall of Fame, I think that he'll be wearing orange and black. But yeah, you might be right about what ballplayers are thinking (or at least one of the factors that they are considering), as a general rule.
