Utley and Polanco on the DL. Uh oh. A tired arm on Halladay? Uh oh.

A series against one of the worst franchises, in recent memory, the
Pirates coming up.

If they cannot feast on the poor teams (a la the Cleveland Indians) then
I would officially move my state from "concerned" to "worried".

Right now I'm

Chase Utley is out at least 4-6 weeks, maybe longer. Is Tad Iguchi
available?

Ruben's Dream Team is becoming his nightmare.

Was it So Taguchi or Tad Iguchi that filled in so well, time takes those
memories away it seems...

I really miss Jayson Stark's Sunday column from the Philadelphia
Inquirer. How long ago was that, 5 years now? longer?

So Taguchi was the defensive OF specialist that couldn't catch. Iguchi
was so good the Phils asked him to switch to third when Utley came back.

I haven't read the Inquirer in years. Yahoo's MLB/Phillies site links all
the local sports news. I get my hard news from the funny papers.

So in summation, the kid (my kid, not me) made it to the first two
Pirates games. And losses.
Back in the fold, a win. Lopsided at that. And Kyle Kendrick, for the
first time ever, pitched a complete MLB game.
But as the pisher told me, Phillies tend to do poorly in PNC park. So
hopefully they finish the series on a win, and get to .500 for the trip
and that PNC park.

Welcome home, son.
