Indians fans holding a ticket for today's postponed game against Chicago,
may redeem that rain check for a game NEXT season!

I don't know that I have ever heard a team do that.

That's a very generous, fan-friendly thing for the Indians to do.

I think ticket sales are becoming lesser and lesser in importance in
regard to a team's revenues. I think it is more becoming like casinos,
get the fan in there and let them spend away. With most ball parks
becoming like malls, they just want to get the fan in there to spend
additional money. This additional money could sometimes be two or three
times the ticket value. A far cry from the fact of when we attended
games..

Also the cable and pay per view MLB extra innings is becoming a huge
revenue nugget for all MLB teams. But the Reds fall behind in this
respect like other small market teams. Nice gesture by the Indians
anyway.

What? "Come back next year when the Royals will have climbed right up our backs
and out of the AL Central basement"?

That is if the Tribe doesn't end up finishing in the cellar this year, they're
only a half game away. 64-92...and we thought the Reds were bad.

They have the option to use the tickets at tomorrow's meaningless
doubleheader. But I thought it was kind of refreshing that a team would
redeem those tickets for seats in 2010.
