I realize its the offseason, but there is almost no Reds-related
posting activity. Did everyone go somewheres else?

Furthermore, a crazy person or 2 has started posting his nonsense
here. I seem to recall this guy from a few years back. i want to say
it was the Yankees group. Between this nutjob and the sneaker ads, I
think we may be done here.

The Yankee NG went to an invite only google group. Works pretty
well, but they have the traffic.

Also, baseballthinkfactory.org has set up a few team centric
blog. (Off the top of my head, Red Sox, Cubs, Yankees, Mets.
There may be others.)

Not sure how one goes about setting up something like that,
but I'll bet Dan Szymborski does and could make it happen
if there was sufficient interest.

I didn't abandon ship. I just had to take my home computer to work. I have
very little time to use it here.

Nope, but for me, what's to talk about?

I doubt we get much of a sniff of improving the team off season, so
nothing to even think about until the latest stick-to-the-wall NRI
shows up in camp next spring and ballyhooed by management.

I had anticipation last off-season of a power RHed bat and maybe
another quality starter, and was fed a lump of coal named WillyT
instead.

The brewers traded Hardy to the twins, so my first choice for a cheap
SS option with a decent glove and power has already faded away.

Hell, I doubt we could even afford to re-sign AGon much less someboyd
decent.

On a righter note, UC and WVU play prime time Friday night, and it's
just about time for college basketball to get going.

I've even snuck a peek this weekend at my long ago sworn off bengals
this weekend, and I don't remember watching them play defense like
that in my lifetime.

Reds... meh.

Right. After so many years of mismanagement, there are very real
questions if the front office is willing to compete or not. "The losing
stops now" is believable once, but it's kind of old the second time and
when the owner pulls it out for a third go-round nobody can blame the
fans for not believing.

On top of that.....The moves Jocketty has made since becoming GM are a
very mixed lot. I think there's the question that if they want to
succeed...do the have a plan? I'm not convinced that sticking with the
status quo in left and catcher and at short is the way to go.

Right. And then the reds front office produce this weak quote that says
the brewers wouldn't trade within the division. I guess we're supposed
to be grateful that they were paying attention.

It's tough to be a reds fan in the fall.
