From: John Schuholz on 19 Apr 2008 15:57 For all u Griffey lovers - this bats for U bottom ninth, 3 balls - guaranteed walk - but Whiffey swings and strikes out on the next 2 pitches. Not thats what I call a baseball team player. Another steller day for Whiffey - 0-4 for all u stat bays - why not check out how many times hes been 0-4, then check out many times he makes an out with men on base. Then you'll think twice about how this guy fits on the REDS team. John

Not thats what I call a baseball team player. In case you haven't noticed, all hitters strike out. How 3 balls is a guaranteed walk is new to me. > for all u stat bays - why not check out how many times hes been 0-4, then > check out many times he makes an out with men on base. While I type it out, go get your best tasting shoe. With men on base, Griffey's OBP is .364, which means he does pretty well on the outs. He also has a .667 slugging percentage in those situations with 3 homers and 11 RBI (leading the Reds). You post only when Griffey has a bad game and you ignore everyone having a worse year so far than he is. That makes you an inconsistent and illogical fool with a shoe in his mouth.

Did anybody see this? That's exactly the type of situation (leading off a late inning when they are several runs down) where just getting on base is a good thing. It's what Junior DID. dfs

The Reds weren't doing that last year, so maybe they'll actually bunt against the shift this year and force teams not to shift so much anymore. Has Junior bunted against the shift any other time this season? Haven't really kept up on that. |
