From: nate on 6 Jun 2010 18:14 GAME 58 - This time it's the hitters that are a bunch of lackeys. A wasted workman's effort goes down the drain. Hall drew the short straw on who stood most anemically, with 0-4 and a GIDP, making his day -1 for 5 outs. Martinez' 2-run blast gets the Sox on board in the 2nd and a walk and another hit, but is lifted for a pinch runner late. This game once again was further demonstration of the misery of no runs in the top of the inning, so now you have to get 6 scoreless outs versus all they gotta do is score. ------------------------------------------------------ Opponent: Miss Maryjane's Baltimore Orioles Game data: LOSE 3 - 4 Okajima (2 - 2) HR Martinez (8) SBs Pedroia (4) Season's record: 33 - 25 Trip/home stand record: 2 - 1 --------------------------------------------- This game's +s and -s and STARs & GOATs and comments: Lackey with the unfortunately timed STAR. My schedule taped to the wall next to my computer has each week start on Sunday, like nearly all calendars do. It makes it easier to double-check. However, looking at it, I see that 23 series end on Sundays. Only 1 began on Sunday (opening day) and 2 are straddling the Sunday/Monday line. It's too bad that the schedule calendars dont take this into account. - nate
