Tigers vs White Sox - Game 2 Only thing I can say is the Tigers survived a very poor outing by Robertson. Great to see Cabrerra go over 100 RBIs for the 6th straight season. And any time the Tigers can provoke an Ozzie Gullen meltdown is a good day :) Regards, -- //// (o o) -oOO--(_)--OOo- "Our similarities are di... 27 Sep 2009 12:26
Tigers vs White Sox - Game 1 What a turn of events. Bonine is pitching a no-hitter and then loses it and the game. And Jake Peavy who has done little all season pitches like he never missed a beat. Well, I guess it the Sox were bound to turn things around after what has gone on around them this past week. KC played like crappy KC and Twi... 26 Sep 2009 12:33
Yep...that Fernando Rodney sawed the bat off in Jhonny Peralta's hands all right. What a clutch pitching performance. :-) But -- "A save is a save is a save." Gertrude Stein ... 25 Sep 2009 12:02
Nice Start That's what I was hoping for, Jackson has a very good game and gets the win. I read some stories that he was tipping his pitches. We may never know if that's true but a great sign never the less that he might be on the right track. Pitching matchups favor Detroit the next 2 games, let's hope they play out tha... 23 Sep 2009 23:32

Salvage (John P) You're right. I thought for sure, if Verlander couldn't get the job done......Nate certainly couldn't. But he did. Nate Robertson actually pitched a pretty good game. And, we had just enough offense.......to get the win. The most unlikely one to win too. ... 21 Sep 2009 02:22
Salvage Well, as I predicted, the Tigers win the game they probably had the least right winning. Does not matter which one, taking 1 of 3 in Minn. is fine by me at this point. Not feeling any more comfortable, so don't take this the wrong way, but we will see how this works out. ... 21 Sep 2009 11:15
Mission accomplished...for both teams Twins win the series and cut lead to 3. Tigers salvage the third game, getting a huge win from an unlikely source with Robertson. Big two-game swing there. Twins suck on the road and play 10 of 13 away from the baggie. Big 4-game series impending with the Twinks at the friendly confines. I'd like to see tha... 24 Sep 2009 13:56
Asking too much from Verlander? Leyland again makes the questionable decision to keep his starting pitcher out there too long. Today it was Verlander into the eighth with 128 pitches. Verlander can't be expected to be the only consistent starter AND cover for his bullpens weaknesses. To his credit, he pitched a great game, but was j... 20 Sep 2009 12:59
Porcello in too long Leyland opted to keep Porcello on the mound into the 6th inning for 99 pitches. Bad decision. .. .. - Scott Smith: scott.smith(a)iphouse.com MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/choppersmith ... 19 Sep 2009 17:06 |
