I don't put any of this loss on Votto. He should have made the play,
but it doesn't matter how good your defense is when your pitching is
issuing multiple bases loaded walks. Four free passes in the 8th -
that alone was enough to plate the winning run.

Still trying to figure out why we didn't walk Pujols in the 7th with
1st base open. I know why Bailey was still out there. Baker wanted
to get him the win. Ugh.

121 pitches for Bailey, a new season high. Bailey is 36th in the NL
in innings pitched, but he's 6th in actual pitches thrown. Think
about that - only five guys in the entire league have more mileage on
their arms this year than Homer Bailey. It'll end in pain, sooner or
later.
