Finally - I've been waiting for this post for months. You know your
team truly is a legit contender when the competition's fans start
showing up in your Usenet group!

im reading all NL groups, but yes, first time posting on no-cards NG :)
to be clear here, if Cards not gonna make it to PS (0.000001%
possibility), I'll root for Reds :) (half line up from Cards)

Of course I'm serious...ly kidding. But this season, Hernandez/
Hannigan ARE outhitting Molina (it's not close), and Votto is
outperforming everybody. I thought it was amusing the Cards fan picked
those two. Now if you want to take Drew Stubbs for Colby Rasmus, we
can talk <grin>

Yes, Votto has the best OPS in the NL this year. However, he only leads
Pujols by 40 points (1.025 vs .985). Furthermore, Votto needs to
demonstrate this year-in, year-out. Most people would still predict that
Pujols will have a better season than Votto next year without any
disrespect to Votto.

Furthermore, even with Votto leading the NL in OPS, Scott Rolen is still
more valuable. Consider that his OPS=.913 which is coming from a 3B.
Practically anyone would take a 100 point difference in OPS if it would
come from a 3B instead of a 1B, especially when Rolen's only competition
for a Gold Glove is Washington's Ryan Zimmerman, either of who would
deserve it.

To require Votto to show it again before someone anoints him the best 1B
in the NL is not being mean to Votto.

ROTFLMAO at the thought!
Ask anybody in baseball who they'd rather have at 1b: Votto or
Pujols, and see what you hear.
Ditto for Yadier Molina vs. Ramon Hernandez.
When does your brain get fully developed?

PS: I was the one who posted that remark about not getting Pujols
and Molina.
