Alonso's numbers in AA don't scream elite prospect to me at all when compared to
Chris Heisey's, and yet, Heisey has played five positions in the minors (SS, LF,
1B, 3B, 2B).

Not saying that's a good idea...just saying that the Reds don't seem to be too
concerned about shuttling their elite prospects from position to position.

major difference between a 22 year old with a broken wrist that was the
sixth guy taken in the draft pick and a 24 year old that was a 17th rounder.

Nothing against Heisey, but he has had to play himself into prospect
status (and he's done that)

Yonder is at the other end of the spectrum where he is going to get
every chance in the world to make the big club.

This difference between Heisey and Alonso are thier projected ceilings

It seems like the Reds ought to try and deal Alonzo to get what they
need.

A more interesting link to me was Jockety offering Gomes a minor
league contract. Hope they put some effort into that.
