Why leave Arroyo in with Herrera and Rhodes down there? Just brutal
move. This pitching staff can never have a shut down inning. I knew the
Astros were going to score after Votto put them up 3-0.

He left him in one guy too long. I don't like showing the opposing team the
same guy three nights in a row either. Cordero got the job done......but
damn it......I don't understand the need to run that 'CLOSER' out there no
matter what.

I think it was the right call tonight. Cordero is the best reliever
on the team right now, and the team was three outs away from a close
win and sweeping a rival. He didn't need to pitch yesterday, but I
can see why Dusty hit the panic button after the Masset meltdown.

He also didn't need to pitch on Tuesday with a 4-run lead in a 6-2
win. Now you're heading to St.Louis having used him 3 days in a row.

Baker has way too long a leash when it comes to starting pitchers. My
approach to that seventh inning would be, Bronson your going to be
yanked if you allow one runner here. Not only did he do that, he allowed
a homer and still let him continue. The game is very important from the
seventh inning on and Baker goes by a script. He could have brought
Rhodes in there to assure a shut down inning but he failed to do so.

I would have used Massett in the save situation last night to try and
get him going. It would have been a huge confidence booster..

Baseball is a great game and Danny you make a great point about
Hannigan not getting that run in and putting it all on the pitcher.
Putting that second run up against Oswalt last night was crucial. Yet
Hannigan passed on trying.
