From: john smith on 23 Apr 2010 23:43 Chuck, don't give up yet. I hope you keep the package up until July. This team just can't be this bad. They look awful now but things can swing around. I maybe crazy but I think Jay Bruce is finally going to make progress this year. .270 30 80 is very possible. Chapman will be up in two weeks, management has to do something to fill the seats. Janish could be a pleasant surprise. He had another line drive hit in the 8th inning. Hannigan is tearing the cover off the ball. Baseball is all about streaks. Arroyo can bounce back. He has had outings like this in the past two years and has always bounced back. Nick Massett and Homer Bailey have too good of stuff to keep faltering. You must get rid of dead wood with no potential upside. Harang and Hernandez if not gone, must become part time players at this point in their careers. How good would Hairston look in CF and leading off this year as opposed to the garbage we have got out there now. I would have rather spent money on Hairston and went with Hairston, Janish and taken my chances as opposed to Stubbs/ Cabrera. Cabrera may be showing a little life with the bat but his range is probably the worst in he N.L..... Are Red's scouts that bad? This division sucks so anything is possible. Lets wait until the middle of June to make a serious evaluation on this club.

This team has very poor fundamentals. They are constantly making mental mistakes. Cueto took everything for granted getting thrown out at third. Fundamentals is common sense but some of it comes down to leadership and falls on the manager. He needs to correct it right away and be more strict with his players. Baker hasn't done this. It is one thing when you are playing poorly, but you just compound the misery when you keep repeating the same mental mistakes this team has made over the last few years! It gets downright unwatchable from a fan's perspective. |
