From: David Short on 2 Mar 2010 15:13 "Order by number of starts taken....Harang, Arroyo, Volques, Cueto, Owings, Bailey" Arroy, Cueto, Harang, Bailey, Owings, Volquez Nobody got the top two in order. Most of us thought that either Harang or Volquez would be up there. "Which reds pitcher will get Cy Young Ballots?" We voted for Harang and Volquez. When I start hollering that Harang is gonna come back big....remind me that I've been saying that for a while now. Nobody showed up on the ballot. Arroyo would have been the only one to deserve mention. "The reds chose to resign several older free agents in the bullpen (Weathers/Lincoln/Rhodes replaced Affeldt) keeping last years bullpen largely intact as opposed to letting some of the younger prospects (Josh Roenicke or Danny Hernrera) pitch. Was bring back the vets a good thing to do or should they have gone with the kids." The consensus was that you can never have too many pitchers. The reds chose to resign several older free agents in the bullpen (Weathers/Lincoln/Rhodes replaced Affeldt) keeping last years bullpen largely intact as opposed to letting some of the younger prospects (Josh Roenicke or Danny Hernrera) pitch. Was bring back the vets a good thing to do or should they have gone with the kids. I guess Jocketty deserves some credit here. Lincoln went down with an injury, but Rhodes was spectacular all year long. Weathers was good and provided depth and got flipped for ....it was listed as a ptbnl, but I think it ended up being cash. You can criticize the Lincoln signing, but he may still turn in a decent year and the other ones worked out well enough. Herrara got to pitch (and did well) Roenicke got shipped off to Toronto. that's the end of last year's questions. Hope you had some fun reading what we thought. dfs
