From: john smith on 27 Apr 2010 15:02 I remember last year all the raves the Reds pitchers had in regard to throwing to Hannigan. Hernandez has looked real shaky to me, especially blocking balls in the dirt. This guy's knees are gone. Another stupid move by WJ. The only move that could save him is Chapman becoming the ace we hope he can be.

I was looking at the Astros' record last night, and boy have they turned it around. They're 8-2 in their last ten games, and are now ahead of the Reds in the standings. Doesn't look to be an easy series after all, particularly with the Reds facing Oswalt in game three.
From: john smith on 27 Apr 2010 15:22 As far as I am concerned Jay Bruce has shown enough improvement over last September and this month to give him a pass until the end of this year. He is really a nice defensive player. I really think he has the tools to play CF. He gets great jumps on balls. His main problem is he gets pull happy after hitting home runs. I would love this guy to just hit for doubles more. When he goes the other way it forces him to stay on the ball and not pull off and swing at the pitch outside in the dirt. He is finally coming, I think and hope. As far as pulling the plug, I am getting near that time with this guy Stubbs. Brutal swing... Hitting all them home runs in September ruined him...........

The Reds just got finished with the padres who came into town on a 6- game win streak. Now they get the astros who are playing very well after a horrible start. Bad timing again for the Reds. Astros pitching has been pretty good so far.
